With our animal base, we yield many pounds of fiber every year–in just about every color possible. We shear the goats twice a year, the alpacas (both Suri and Huacaya) once a year, and the llamas every other year. I review and sort the fiber, and then send it off to a fiber mill, where the llama and goat fiber is dehaired. Then the fiber of all the animals is turned into roving that is ready to be spun or into felted sheets that can be transformed into any number of products.
In the fiber shack, you’ll find:
- Naturally colored and hand-dyed roving from all three types of animals.

- Handspun 2-ply novelty yarn in natural or hand dyed colors.
- Hand knitted hats and scarves for adults, children, and infants.
- Tote bags, purses, hats, Christmas ornaments, pillows, vests, cell phone cases, and more–all made by hand from the felt that was created from our animals’ fiber.
Hours The Fiber Shack is open June-October, Saturdays 10-4. We are usually here most other days throughout the year just call for a visit.
